SHIFT Consulting is the result of nearly 30 years of global public health experience and over a decade of independent consulting. Formerly operating under the name RDC International Public Health Solutions, I began my consultancy work in 2013 with a wide range of assignments—from assessments and program design to evaluations, management, and team building. Over time, my focus sharpened, and so did my expertise.
Today, SHIFT Consulting reflects both my professional journey and my core area of specialization: Social and Behavior Change (SBC). While I continue to offer comprehensive public health services, my work is now rooted in the principles and practices of SBC—because lasting impact comes not just from plans or programs, but from empowered people and transformed behaviors.
The name SHIFT was chosen deliberately. It represents the pivot in my career toward what is most effective, most meaningful, and most sustainable. But more importantly, it symbolizes the ultimate goal of my work: to catalyze and support change—in mindsets, in behaviors, and in communities.
My tagline, Empowering Change, captures this vision. I believe that sustainable development happens when individuals and communities are equipped to lead their own transformation—building the skills, confidence, and systems needed to thrive long after external support ends.
Through the years, I’ve come to learn that change is about more than education, awareness-raising, publicity, communication, or marketing tools. Change is a process.
“Social and Behavior Change is the process of dialoguing with an individual Priority Group Member in a timed and targeted manner to help reveal barriers and enablers using critical thinking skills to set in place a supportive environment where a new behavior can be adopted and sustained such that continued practice of the behavior leads to the desired personal or collective outcome.”
