Letter of Recommendation

To Whom It May Concern:
As a long-time professional colleague of Danielle Chekaraou, I am honored to write a letter of recommendation for her. As the author of the Practical Guide to Conducting a Barrier Analysis (BA), Danielle was one of my first “students” and the one to truly master it. From the very beginning, Danielle understood the power of the Barrier Analysis and how it could transform an organization’s behavior change strategies. She took the time to not only learn to implement a Barrier Analysis study, but also how to train others toplan and implement a study and use the results.
Since her initial introduction to the BA in the early 2000s, she has taken the approach to a new level. Not only has she used the BA to study a huge variety of behaviors, she has found ways to use modern technology, such as tablets, to collect and analyze the data. This has made the approach attractive to far more audiences around the world.
As an experienced international development worker, Danielle knows how to apply the BA to various technical sectors. In fact, Danielle may have conducted the BA in more countries and written more BA questionnaires than anyone else in the world.
Danielle is a very accomplished trainer, which is an important part of learning to conduct a BA. She has built upon the learning activities included in the Practical Guide, and developed many new and effective learning activities as well. Her fluency in French and ability to conduct the training in that language has made her a sought-after consultant, especially in Francophone West Africa, where she has decades of work experience.
Danielle is flexible and easy to work with. Her years of living and working in developing countries have prepared her to face the typical challenges with calm practicality. She is hardworking and diligent. And finally, Danielle’s excellent writing skills allows her to produce a final report of the study such that it becomes a valued working document.
Most sincerely,
Bonnie Kittle
