It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of recommendation for Danielle Chekarou. I have known Danielle for over 20 years. We were colleagues at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It was there that I first saw Danielle’s commitment to excellence and her passion for the public good while she supervised field teams for the Stop Transmission of Polio (STOP) program.
Recently, Danielle began working with our family foundation to explore safe cooking technologies for women in Africa. I recruited Danielle for this position, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Our project would not have advanced without her.
Danielle combines technical knowledge, strategic vision, and a tireless drive to excel with a comprehensive understanding of public health methodology and social dynamics. In addition to her technical acumen she works well with people and is skillful in motivating her team and working with colleagues.
